There are two volcanos on Salina, both out of order for quite a few years

Hence undertaking two excursions may be appropriate:
- The first from Santa Maria di Salina (in the east) to the top of the eastern volcano "Monte Fosso delle Felci" (962m) with its wide crater.
- The second trail leads around the western Volcano "Monte dei Porri" (868m).
Both excursions necessarily terminate in a Ristorante in Rinella (center south) from where a bus service exists to bring us back to S.M.S.
